Green drop ratios - Guild Wars Forums

I have a W/Mo, lvl20, about 650k exp that I have been using to try and get The Razorstone in Sorrow's Furnace (SF) for a while now. I have learned how to get into SF and locate Tanzit Razorstone pretty easily using the henchmen. What I am wondering is....how much time am I looking to spend doing this realistically? I mean, has anyone posted any ratios of greens picked up vs times attempted? It would just be nice to know if I'll be doing this for the rest of my life or what?

I can be successful with 5 henchmen but 4 is a crapshoot; sometimes I make it, sometimes I don't. Is there anyone who has done this sort of thing either in SF or ToPK? And are there any skill recipes for a W/Mo that would allow me to be successfull using 4 henchmen and which henchmen would work best?

I used to farm for greens outside of warcamp with henches only but i never got any greens. Then i went with a guildy once and on the second or third boss my guild mate got a green. So i believe you have a better green drop ratio when you have atleast one other actuall person with you in your group. Dont know if this is fact though.

That's simply explained:

If you are in a group with (say) 7 henchies, your chance of getting a particular drop is 1 in 8.

If you have one human in the same party, the chance of one of you getting that same job is 2 in 8, or simplified: 1 in 4.

To OP - sorry, don't know what the green drop rate in SF is; I've wandered around there many a time with a full hench party and only ever got 2 greens.

Rule of thumb - multiply green drop chance by party hench/human ratio to get actual drop chance!

(It ain't a lot)

Yes not only do u split the gold with the henchies but also the drops(but u dont get to see the drops the henchies get but it is figured in). When soloing I tend to get drops about 1 out of every 12-15 trys (ive gotten drops the first time and its taken me over 25x to get a drop) So if you figure that ration of 1 out of 12-15 or so and x it by the number of ppl figure its going to take u 100 -120 runs to get it. That is why soloing or duo is much more appealing, better odds.

Well if you want to increase your drop rate go as a W/N and solo it.

Wow, so it's possible to solo in SF? I'm going to have to do some research on that. I did not know that was possible.

i've done runs at least 100 times, and only got 1 razorstone

Henchies are BAD news when you are farming >_<

getting in a farming group in Warcamp will get you further.

I got 2 greens(shadestone,Morgriffs scepter) outside sorrows furnace with hench in about 20 runs but lately have been shut out. I got only 1 green inside furnace take 5 hench at most.
